Caribbean Stud Poker is a casino game that in some aspect is similar to five card stud poker. This Kind of poker is played only against the House instead of other players. Because of this there is no Bluff involved in the game, the players only try to beat the dealer, not each other, with the best poker hand. This Poker Game was created as a direct result of poker’s popularity, and to give more variety to casino games and poker tables. The past and origin of Caribbean Stud Poker to this date is still blurry and many theories have been created over the years. The truth is that the game begun to be played around 1987, at the King International Casino in Aruba, which latter became known as the Grand Holiday Casino.
The game itself is very simple and the player only has to make a few decisions. After you place the ante and receive you cards you choose whether to fold (and lose your ante money) or play, making a raise bet (double the ante bet). Before the start of the game, at the time you place the ante bet, you have the option to participate in the progressive Bet ($1). One of the most attractive facts of this game is that you don't need a good hand to win; the dealer has to fold when his hand does not qualify. You only have to wisely choose when to play and when to fold, and how much you risk in the bet.
Every player can play only 1 hand, and has to place an ante bet. All the players and the dealer get 5 cards dealt face down. The dealer turns up one of his cards and the places the rest of then to the players. The players then look at their cards, and decide if they fold or play. In case they decide to play, they place their bets of double the ante amount; if they fold they lose their ante. The Dealer only plays if he has Ace/King or a Higher Hand. When all the bets are ready the dealer reveals the rest of his hand and begins to play against every player, from right to left. The hands that beat the dealer's hand qualify as Winner hands. If the dealer hand does not qualify (having at least Ace/King) all the antes are paid even money and the raise bets are pushed. The winner hands are determined by standard poker hand rankings.
Ante: This is the bet put before you get your cards dealt and is mandatory. Raise Bet: This is double the ante bet and is made after you look at you cards. Progressive Bet: You have the option to put this bet before you get dealt you cards, if you desire to play in the jackpot bet; usually $1.
There is a table that shows how much money you could win from the Raise Bet and the Progressive Bet, the amount of this prize is gradual and depends on the money bet. This is known as the Payout table.
