The Holiday Inn Hotel and Casino still exists today, but it's casino is called Excelsior Casino since 1998.

It didn't take long for the Las Vegas casinos to notice the fast growing popularity of Stud Poker game. In the early 1990s, only a few years after it's introduction in Aruba, Caribbean Poker game was introduced in Nevada casinos. Caribbean poker popularity continued to rise even faster since then, and there are very few casinos that *don't* offer Stud Poker nowadays, including both land based and Internet casinos.

After being introduced in Aruba in the late 1980s, Caribbean Poker game quickly became one of the crowds favorites in the Caribbean casinos, and aboard the cruise ships sailing the Caribbean waters.

The game called Caribbean Poker thus has a history of only 25 years, but in this period it managed to gain a popularity that few table games ever accomplished during such a short time frame. In fact we don't know any table game that pulled this stunt, except for maybe Let It Ride Poker game.

Ten years ago you couldn't find a Stud Poker table in any casino in the USA. Nowadays, every major casino has at least one Caribbean Poker table and in fact, most casinos have 2 or more tables. What led to its explosive growth? First, it's based on the All-American game of five-card poker that is familiar to most players. Second all players compete against the dealer eliminating the intimidation of playing against other players that occurs in regular table poker. Third, the game features a progressive jackpot that sometimes reaches $100,000 and more. And fourth and most importantly, the game is very easy to play.

Caribbean stud Poker is a version of the game Poker, with a history dateing back to the late 1980s creating a very simple but exciting game. The game first arrived on cruise ships before expanding to nevada and eventualy other casinos. Each player makes a bet on the respective position, to receive five cards, which make up the player's "hand". The dealer is also dealt five cards, the last card being dealt face up. Now the players choice whether to "Fold" or to play. If folds, then the stake on the Ante is lost, and the cards are returned to the dealer. If decides to play, then he places his cards in the position marked Bet.

The payout table, beating the dealer's "hand" stands as follows: in the case of the dealer having the same "hand" as the player, then the winner will be determined by the ranking of the cards. If both hands are of exactly the same ranking, then the outcome is a "stand - off". In addition to playing the game outlined above, the player has also the option of playing the Bonus Bet. This bet is made at the same time as the Ante and is a separate bet staked by the player, the outcome of which is determined by the player's "hand" only.
